Developed an "immortal" lithium-ion battery

A simple lithium-ion battery is recommended to not to bend or twist, because the components contained in it are very sensitive to water and can explode or catch on fire when contacting it. But the new batteries created by scientists, you can not only bend, but also tie a knot, absolutely not worrying about your own health.

Work on a flexible lithium-ion battery began in 2015, when the US military chemical laboratory specialists together with scientists from the University of Maryland created a "safe and environmentally friendly" battery, just adding a little salt. Developers were not limited by adding salt in battery, but turned the electrolyte into a gel, which allowed literally to bend out of the new battery steering wheel.

this innovation has not affected on the quality of new batteries and different operating conditions. The battery was watered, kept in the sun, cut off pieces from it and subjected to other tests. The battery, wrapped only with an electrically insulating tape, did not react to bullying and continued to work as usual. It seems that soon the American military will have cool batteries.
