Bring Something to the Table: the New Element Names

The recently discovered elements 113, 115, 117 and 118 will now be known as nihonium, moscovium, tennessine and oganesson.
Researchers in Japan proposed nihonium (Nh) for their discovery of element 113 after Nihon, one of the Japanese words for “Japan”. Scientists based in Russia and the US who discovered elements 115 and 117 have put forward the names moscovium (Mc) and tennessine (Ts), respectively. Element 118 is named oganesson (Og) after Yuri Oganessian, a Russian nuclear physicist.
